You will provide direct care and support to each individual to the degree necessary as outlined in their Individual Support Plan (ISP) / Positive Behavioral Support Plan (PBSP) in the following areas:
Providing support in a manner that honors the wishes and culture of the individuals supported while maintaining health and safety.
Assisting individuals with accessing their community and encouraging participation in educational and recreational activities.
Making observations and documenting individuals' activities, behavior, and progress.
Administering medications and treatments under the direction of nursing staff and medical professionals.
Assisting individuals with daily living activities and hygiene needs, including personal care, bathing, toileting, and feeding.
Documenting and tracking all aspects of care, answering phones, and maintaining confidentiality.
Preparing meals and completing housekeeping tasks.
WORKING CONDITIONS You will work in a residential group home environment Normal house setting, which is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
You will be exposed to a variety of settings both within the residential group homes and the community.
Expect work hours and shifts in this position to include any shift, including weekends, nights, and holidays depending on your assigned work schedule.
You must be able to work occasional overtime to ensure adequate staffing requirements.
You will work with sometimes combative, unpredictable, argumentative, aggressive children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The ability to lift 75 pounds, moving program supplies for residents or other program needs.
You will also frequently have to squat, bend, and stoop.
You must be able to engage and maintain Oregon Intervention System (OIS) approved restraints for one (1) hour or less.
You must have a valid ID/license and insurance, and maintain an acceptable driving record.
